Fat
Injections or fat transfers involve removal of fat from one part
of the body and transplanting it to another, e.g. to the lips or
cheeks. The fat is collected in a syringe by liposuction, centrifuged
and then re-injected through a large calibre needle. The result
depends on the fat transferred becoming a living graft and surviving
long term in its new location. Only a percentage of the transplanted
fat will survive. It will survive better in some areas than others.
The
surgeons at the Aesthetic Day Surgery will give you a realistic
indication of the results you can personally expect from fat injections
during your initial consultation.
